3 Irish Duels
All the players get into pairs and compete in any or all of these three types of duel:
ON GUARD: Partners face each other with their right arm outstretched, their middle and index fingers pointed forward, and their other palm facing outward behind their backs. On ‘Go!’ (From the facilitator), each player must try and poke their opponents palm with their ‘sword’ fingers. Most successful pokes wins.
TOE TAP: Partners try to tap the tops of each other’s feet with their own as many times a possible. Most successful taps wins.
ONE FOOT: Both partners cross their arms across their chest and then lift one foot off the ground (bending the knee) and balance on the other foot. On ‘Go!’, the goal is to knock your partner off balance, forcing them to put their raised foot down. Most successful ‘foot downs’ wins.
